The BIG weekend...

and boy were we stuffed.

Geoff and I kicked off nice and early Saturday morning after reading the DIY instructions for what seemed like the 100th time.

We cut the 4 posts to the right height, then laid out the timber beams in order to get them squared before placing the posts in the right position so they could be bolted through the tiles and then into the concrete under.

After spending all day installing the timber (thank god Ben & Ze... number 1 son and girlfriend, came up to help), it wasn't until Sunday that we started putting the thatching on.

We managed to do the 2 sides before we called it a day and will probably finish the rest next weekend.

We were hoping that we could start the other one (day bed) on the other side of the pool then but that one may have to wait until Easter

the thatching on the first side is now complete...yay!

both sides complete

We managed to do a bit to the front yesterday-20 strips all up

all finished...woohoo, now to build me a bar!

Me - I don't know about being an expert Kait, but I can say it was definitely nice to be finished

J. Chadwick Said- All of your efforts have paid off because that's one incredible hut you've got there! It looks to be quite big...no doubt you'll put it to good use. You say your building a bar...what! Is there anything you guys can't do? Amazing, just amazing well done.

Me - Thank you Julie, it's definitely paid off in a good way, it's a 5m x 4m hut
