The story behind the story

I created this blog as a 'diary', of the journey My husband and I were embarking on, to share the many trials and tribulations that go hand in hand when building a brand new home.

Our overall goal, was to encompass our very own private 'Oasis', to enjoy with both family and friends for many years to come.

Having had the pleasure, of both designing and styling our previous homes, this would be the first 'Asian' themed home which I'm very excited about.

With an acute eye for detail, my aim is to create a peaceful and relaxed feel from within the home

Given that the design of the home is 'Modern', we selected a (Pavilion) facade which featured timber battens, to bring both the 'Modern' and 'Asian' look together.

The interior colour scheme and decor' will have charcoal tones with pops of colour.

The 'Oasis' of the home, will be tropical gardens that encompass the wrap-around pool as seen here complete with thatched roof Balinese huts for entertaining and relaxation.
Derived from both Indonesia and Asia, the word 'Santai' (meaning rest or relaxation) will be incorporated into naming our home
