Render me happy!
We had a team of 4 Asian men rendering the house today and what a great job, they didn't get to finish today so will probably be back tomorrow. I also noticed that we had delivery of our timber flooring for the theatre podium and the backing board for the pavilion woo hoo can't wait to see that go on

The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire!
Well not really, it's just that stupid song I've now got in my head after sining it on my way to see the house (my usual daily drive-by). When I got there, I saw three guys laying out the scaffolding and getting it ready to put on the roof. They finished the job on the 9th September but due to being short of about 12 tiles or so, they have to come back to complete the job.
The bricks were cleaned too on Saturday 7th Sept
Ridge capping complete...wow what a stunner!

The beams
Today saw me watching the guys install the front beams to the pavilion so the bricks can be laid. Steve and the team got straight into work and finished the rest of the bricks so the guy can finish off the guttering to the pavilion. What a productive day
doesn't that pavilion look impressive? I'm sooooo in love with my house

Fascia and Guttering
We had the brickies doing the front pillars and the guy installing the fascia and guttering around the back....what!
A very productive day indeed, we couldn't be happier with the process. The guy now just has to wait until the beams to the front pavilion get installed on Monday then he can finish off around the front

Another brick in the wall
Day 2 of brick laying, it's a race to the finish line lol. We knew this was going to be a big job for the brickies and boy they have been excellent. We had the best team of brickies with Steve leading the way, and due to his perfectionism (couldn't ask for better) the job was done in a matter of 10 working days with 1 Saturday to do the front pillars. They finished the job on the 3rd September
Thank you Steve and team, you certainly made a common orange brick look amazing lol, it's a shame we are rendering them. A stand out performance well done.

Frame complete
We finally have all the frames completed and it looks awesome. All the coffered ceilings are done along with the drop down ceiling in the kitchen. All the bulkheads are done as well as the bath frames. We know how hard these guys have worked and trust me, with the system like ours, they need a medal. Because we are having roof tiles instead of colourbond, our frame had to be strengthened in order to bare the weight of the tiles. Usually if you are having tiles, you have a timber frame but we paid extra to have the strength of steel hence the longer build time.

The roof
They installed the roof trusses this morning and boy was it great to watch...what a great job. Now it's looking like a real house and not a leggo system

Scaffolding
Some scaffolding was set up out the front today, I'm guessing it's to make it easier for the guys to put the trusses on the pavilion and for when the tiles go on the roof...maybe!!

Truss me!
They put some roof trusses on the alfresco and garage and stood some more walls up. We got to meet our SS this afternoon and boy is he a nice man.
We went through the house to make sure we were happy with it (of course we were) and he told us that everything was going well with the build and because it was a big home, it was going to take longer than most other builds.
As long as we're in by xmas, I'll be a happy camper!
